Moorea

For adventurous soul & surf lovers.

History tells us that the very first surfers were Polynesians, and it's not hard to picture why. Surfing in French Polynesia is a dream come true: crystal clear, warm waters all year round, a variety of surf spots to choose from and fun waves to ride whatever the season.

Ladies, time to wax your board and put on your favorite swimsuit ! We invite you to join Wavehine, the very first Polynesian expedition dedicated to women's surfing. Under the guidance of longboarder, beauty queen and founder of Wavehine collective, Vaimiti Teiefitu, get ready for a journey packed with waves, sunshine and sisterhood.

For surf & nature lovers

A moment just for you, to surf and share moments with incredible women

From Tahiti to Moorea, dive into the surf culture with the incredible Vaimiti

In Tahiti, you'll live by the sea, a stone's throw from the infamous Papara surf spot, in a villa shared with all your new seasters. Mornings will be dedicated to surfing, enjoying long sessions guided by Tereva David, an accomplished surf instructor.
Afternoons will be dedicated to exploring. Aboard Cindy Drollet's boat, let this iconic figure from Teahupo'o show you her Fenua 'Aihere, a wild land at the bottom of the mountains, criss-crossed by rivers, coral reefs and world-famous surf spots. In Hitia'a, Hervé will introduce you to the ancient Polynesian way of life, one that is in harmony with the mana (mystical power) of nature. Follow Vaimiti and you'll find yourself visiting the mythical Mara'a caves, taking an icy dip in the Vaima spring, crafting traditional Polynesian objects or shopping at Papeete's vibrant market.
When the sun goes down, enjoy a yoga session followed by a happy hour. The added bonus? Watch your morning surf session on screen, and gain some insights from your coaches to improve your skills.

Over the weekend, we'll take you to Moorea, Tahiti's sister island and a must on any vacation in French Polynesia. Here, relaxation is the name of the game: cruise Moorea's turquoise lagoon aboard Vaapiti traditional sailing canoe, enjoy a barefoot beach lunch on a picturesque islet, swim like a mermaid amongst all kinds of underwater creatures and let one of our purotu (beautiful women) guide you through a typical Polynesian beauty ritual deep in the heart of the valley.
As the expedition comes to an end, gather to celebrate life and sisterhood around a festive women's circle lit by the stars.

Day 1. Ia Ora Na and welcome to my beautiful home, Tahiti! You are now officially part of the Wavehine crew and to celebrate that, we are waiting for you for a meet and greet on the top of Pape'ete city, which will also serve as your accommodation for the night. Let's enjoy the sunset lights around drinks while getting to know each other as we go through the exciting program of this week. Adventures await!

Day 2. What's a better way to start this incredible surf journey than to visit one of the world's most mythical waves? You guessed it, we're embarking for a day in Teahupo'o. But Teahupo'o is more than just a wave, it is located in the most untouched part of Tahiti that holds a captivating energy known as the "mana". Then, we'll make our way to the Mano Mano lodge, the place we'll call home for the surf week ahead!

Early birdies... get the best surf conditions! Let's be real, the only time that truly gets us excited to rise early is to go for a morning surf. But don't worry, you will have time to unwind throughout the day. And as the day winds down, we have planned a soothing yoga session that will ease your body and mind and leave you invigorated and serene. .

Day 4. Nothing better than another morning surf session, followed by an immersive cultural activity in the valley of Hitia'a. Get ready to explore the rich history and tales of the Kingdom of Tahiti. Get ready to dive into the fascinating stories, traditions and heritage of my island home.

Day 5. Dawn patrol to enjoy the morning lights and surf conditions, you know the drill! In the afternoon, we will be delighted to share with you our palm weaving skills so that you can take home a handcrafted souvenir you made for yourself! We will also prepare our own fresh coconut milk that will serve as a delightful ingredient for our dinner plans.

By now, it's no surprise how our day begins — I mean we're all here to surf, right? ;-) Then you get to decide you'd like to spend your time, you can opt for some downtime such as relaxing and chilling at the lodge, or if you're up for a refreshing adventure, we can take you around for a dip in the nearby cold rivers. As our time at the lodge comes to an end, we have a special surprise in store for you...

Day 7. Kicking off the last day of surfing with a twist! We'll extend a warm welcome to young girls from a local organization and invite them to join us for a ride in the waves. Then, time to pack up and depart for the city for lunch. Our next stop will be the vibrant local market where you can immerse yourself even more in the lively atmosphere and local flavors and crafts of the Tahitian culture. We'll continue our journey by embarking for Mo'orea, Tahiti's Sister Island, for a relaxing weekend.

Day 8. Embrace your inner Moana! Time to venture onto the water, not for surfing this time but to embark on a sailing canoë and enjoy the gentle winds and the breathtaking scenery of Mo'orea from the sea. Your mermaid dreams will come to life as you dip into the crystal clear waters and swim with the gentle and kind creatures of the ocean. We'll finish our day by gathering in a women's circle to reflect on the memorable experiences of the past few days... Let your heart take the lead <3

While it's true that all good things must eventually come to an end, let's not bid farewell just yet. We have one last wonderful experience lined up. Let's immerse ourselves in the well-guarded beauty rituals of the Tahitian Vahines. After lunch, time to say 'Nana' to Mo'orea and head back to Tahiti. This will mark the end of this incredible journey of the first Wavehine Surf & Adventure retreat.
